Marry Me Twice, Mr. Grant

Episode 1 of 9 · CEO & Billionaire, Romance

What happens when a marriage built on a contract ends, and the husband realizes he never wanted it to? In “Marry Me Twice, Mr. Grant,” Nora walks away from the best year of her life, and Vince Grant, the composed CEO she leaves behind, is not ready to let her go.

The Story

Nora has spent her life being told to keep her head down and stay quiet. Vince Grant, her husband, is the one exception. Their marriage was a contract, and as it comes to an end, Nora has to go back to her abusive family, who are already plotting to marry her off again.

Vince is known for being calm and collected, but he is desperate for a chance to win Nora over, even though she left without looking back. He watches her shrink back into the shell he spent a year helping her leave, and he decides enough is enough. Whether he returns as the best “ex-husband” the world has seen or as her real husband with no contract between them, he is determined to protect her with everything he has.

Why It Works

The setup gives both leads something to want. Nora’s arc is about reclaiming a voice she was taught to suppress, and Vince’s is about a man who is used to control and finds himself unsure of his footing. The contract-marriage premise lets the emotional stakes build from the start, because the feelings come after the paperwork.

The “ex-husband” angle also adds some freshness. Instead of a simple chase, Vince has to figure out how to be present in Nora’s life without pressuring her, which suits the protective-hero appeal of the genre. The cast includes Kirby Ellwood, Marc Herrmann, Ben Trotter and Laurel Lynn.

Themes & Tropes

  • Contract lovers whose hidden feelings outlast the agreement
  • Love after divorce and the all-too-late realization
  • A protective husband and a damsel-rescue dynamic, balanced by a strong-willed heroine
  • Self-growth for a woman escaping bullying and an abusive family
  • Reunion, misunderstandings and banquet humiliation, with pregnancy among the dramatic elements

Who Should Watch

This one is for fans of CEO romances who like an emotional payoff, especially readers who enjoy second-chance stories, divorced-couple reunions and heroes who show up when it counts. If you want a heroine who finds her footing as the story goes on, and a romance with real tension between the leads, it is worth a look.
